4 out of 5 stars Bike speedometer schwin review   September 5, 2010

For 13 dollars not bad however the calculations are all wrong for instance if you have 26" tire u have to put in 19" for it to be accurate easy setup took 15-25min if u don't count the time wasted getting it to be accurate. B/c when I had 26" programmed I would test it on a mile marker and it read 1.39 miles that's way off so just saying you have to bring the size down from actual size

4 out of 5 stars Excellent for the price   August 27, 2010

For the price, It is an excellent computer. Installation was not as bad as I thought it would be. The instructions however, at least in terms of programming, could be better. For example, the quick set up says you can enter your age and weight which I did, but the computer doesn't provide the units for age and weight, ie yrs and lbs. The computer at least provides units for distance(mile for kilometers) and temperature. It's not the worst thing in the world, especially for the price.

Once the wheel factor is entered, it actually works well and seems pretty accurate when compared to the odometer on my car. I have to get a bit more familiar with this unit since I have only had it a short time. I am still not sure how to turn on the light but I will figure it out eventually.

Through the use of heavy duty velcro, from Home depot, and the plastic ties provided, I had no problem getting the magnet within 1mm of the sensor. That was the easy part. The tedious part was running the wire and leaving enough slack to be able to turn the handlebars. Used electrical tape to tie the wire to the brake line. Whatever extra slack was left I wrapped around the computer mount unit. The computer unit mount was attached to the handlebars using the plastic ties and, again, velcro.

For the price, excellent. Better instructions, and units for everything and I would have given it 5 stars.

Too many functions for this old man. I still cannot get it to record my mileage. It does not give my tire size when you are setting it up.

You get what you pay for... The wire will rip out when you turn the handlebars too far to the side. Mine lasted a week. Get a planet bike one, they are not as fancy but well built and affordable
