So Not waist your cash December 21, 2008 R. Mcfall This bike was a tremendous waste of time and money. I do not ride often but was looking for something at a moderate price to go riding with my fiance while camping or around town. The first day I had the bike both peddles broke off. I went out and bought some steel peddles at a bike shop (an additional $40 added to the price of the bike). Replaced the peddles and went for another ride shortly into that ride the breaks stopped working and the handle bar ended up coming loose (to this day I can not get it to hold tight) and flipped upside down while I was riding. The seat was extremely uncomfortable and would not clamp tightly into position.
It's a bike. October 27, 2008 SCB (Los Angeles, CA USA) I bought this bike for biking to work and didn't want to spend a lot until I knew this was something I would stick with. Well, a month later, and the pedals are still turning albeit with new aluminum pedals. (I broke the pair that came with the bike on the third day. They were plastic.) I'm satisfied with the basic quality, but it's a definite "starter" bike.
Helpful suggestion to problems. October 1, 2008 Barleys For those of which are experiencing problems with steering, it may be possible that the fork is set backwards in its current position. Simply loosen the top bolt and turn the fork around. The wheel is very close to your legs with minimal clearance for this reason. The handle bar issue is easy, may sure that both allen bolts are equally tighten to the same length on the bars, if the top bolt, bottom( vice versa) is overtighten, the other is loose, which will cause slippage. If the blot is stripped or the what I recommended above is not the issue, call warranty at Pacific Cycle 1-800-626-2811. I am sure they would be happy to help out.
Montana Review September 15, 2008 T. Hylton (CBUS, OH) Overall I do like this bike. I am a beginner mountain biker. It hasn't seen a trail yet, but only the road. Past reviews are accurate (difficult to assemble if you don't know much about bikes, feet hit tires on sharp turns, etc.) Overall though it is a smoothe ride and shifts easy.
Mongoose Montana Men's Mountain Bike September 13, 2008 Masaaki Uchino (Seattle, WA USA) I don't know about bikes very well, but it was really easy to assemble. Hard parts to complete this bike were adjusting brakes and gears. It runs very well. I think this is reasonable cheap and a good product. I feel I am enjoying this.
